Which way it faces decides the ceremony
Three things fight for the same decision: the sun, the sea and the guests. Facing your guests into a low sun means squinting through the vows. Facing the couple into it means the photos are backlit but everyone is comfortable. Most planners solve it by setting the gazebo so the sun crosses the frame rather than sitting in it. Fix this before the chairs are placed, not after.
Wind matters too. A bamboo frame with fabric or florals catches air; the structure is ballasted for it, but heavy dressing on a windy afternoon is a decision to make the day before, not at load-in.
Pairing
Chairs in front, a macrame backdrop or florals in the frame, and ceremony audio so the vows are heard over the surf — on an open beach that last one is not optional.
Logistics
Built on site and struck the same night unless the venue allows otherwise. Beach builds need access for the crew and a ballast plan. Final position is confirmed with your planner the day before.
